Auto-switching to the founder view in 30s
Mathetes Capitals · Intelligence Infrastructure

The intelligence engine behind every investable African startup.

IDDIE — the Investability & Due Diligence Intelligence Engine — is the internal infrastructure that powers Mathetes Capitals' audits, diligence simulations, and fundraising preparation. It is the brain we built so founders stop guessing what institutional capital actually wants.

Trusted by Mathetes Capitals partners, analysts, and the founders we underwrite across Lagos, Nairobi, Accra, Cape Town, and Cairo.

What IDDIE actually is

Not a tool.
An intelligence ecosystem.

IDDIE is the operating brain Mathetes Capitals uses to evaluate, repair, and ready African startups for institutional capital — codified into a system founders can finally use on themselves.

For years our partners ran the same diligence loop in their heads: read the deck, stress-test the narrative, tear apart the financials, audit the cap table, map the founder against the right capital instrument, then decide. IDDIE turns that loop into infrastructure — repeatable, transparent, and finally available to the founders sitting on the other side of the table.

It is a diligence simulator, a readiness scorer, a structural repair engine, a capital-fit mapper, and a memory layer — wired together as one intelligence stack. One brain. One founder. One round at a time.

Why we built it

Four reasons. Each one cost African founders a round.

Founders couldn't see the scorecard.

Every institutional check that lands in Africa is decided against an invisible rubric. IDDIE makes that rubric visible — so founders stop optimizing for the wrong things.

Structure was killing rounds, not businesses.

Most rounds we declined weren't bad companies. They were unstructured ones — broken cap tables, undocumented governance, narrative-financial gaps. IDDIE rebuilds the structure before the round.

Capital was being matched by guesswork.

Founders pitched VC when they needed venture debt. Pitched seed funds when they needed grants. IDDIE matches the startup type to the right capital instrument, archetype, and investor.

Mathetes' own playbook had to scale.

Our analysts couldn't underwrite every founder personally. IDDIE encodes the Mathetes playbook so the same rigor reaches every startup we touch — and every founder we don't yet.

The ecosystem

Four layers. One intelligence stack.

IDDIE is not a single product. It is a vertical intelligence ecosystem — each layer compounding the next.

Layer 01 · Knowledge

The Diligence Knowledge Base

Thousands of investor decisions, term sheets, and rejection patterns — distilled into a structured benchmark library. Every audit runs against it.

Layer 02 · Engine

The Audit & Repair Engine

Scores narrative, structure, financials, governance, positioning, data room, and capital fit. Then generatively rebuilds the gaps — not just flags them.

Layer 03 · Network

The Live Capital Map

Investor O'Clock and Funding Intel sit on top of IDDIE, turning the engine's verdict into a real, filtered list of African investors writing checks this quarter.

Layer 04 · Memory

The Copilot Memory Layer

Persistent founder memory. Tell it once, it remembers forever. Every fix, every conversation, every score — composable into the next round.
